Christ is that bread of life. As the true bread, he gives life and sustains life. We have life in us through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and we will never perish. His seed remaineth in us and the inward man is renewed day by day. That bread of life also sustains and nourishes us in this life if the child of God will come to him in gospel obedience, it is life abundant! As we survey the heavenly manna that was given the Israelites in the wilderness we can see Christ who has and does fulfill all our spiritual and natural needs.
