John 3:16 is probably one of the most used scripture in God’s word. Though it is often referred to it is seldom understood and many times misquoted. The subject matter of this verse is not the new birth but redemption. John 3:16 is not a proposition but a proclamation. It gives assurance to the child of God that the wind of the Spirit has blown upon his heart while also reminding us of the magnitude of God’s love towards his people.
